No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I bought this machine because I was really impressed with it in the store. Unfortunately, I had problems with the LED display after only 3 hours of use. Star trac gave me service to help but I was really upset with it to have problems so soon.
Other than that....if it's working it is a really solid machine that everyone who uses it likes. My advice is buy an adapter so you can plug it in. Don't rely on it's self power function...it may let you down.
